Saitama is a popular ERC-20 community-driven DeFi smart contract project. The project aims at providing an educational ecosystem for Gen Z investors to make wise investment decisions.
To add Saitama V2 tokens to your Coinbase wallet, you must hold the tokens in your wallet. If you’re not an existing holder, you can simply fund your wallet with Ether tokens and exchange them for Saitama V2 tokens on Uniswap.
Also, old Saitama token holders can also see their tokens in the Coinbase wallet by manually adding the token with its contract address.

- Import Saitama V2 tokens to Coinbase wallet
1. Set up your Coinbase wallet
Before you can add Saitama V2 to Coinbase wallet, you must have installed the wallet app.
To set up your Coinbase wallet, go to the official website at https://www.coinbase.com/wallet. This should redirect you to your mobile app store.
You can also download the Coinbase wallet directly from the App Store on iOS devices or Google Play store for Android devices.
After the download is complete, open the app and click ‘CREATE A NEW WALLET’. You can import your wallet if you have an existing Coinbase wallet account.
Choose a unique username and enter a strong password to protect your account.
Finally, back up your 12-word recovery phrase and sign in to your new wallet.
2. Buy Ethereum on Binance
After setting up your wallet, you must fund the wallet with ETH tokens. You can buy ETH from any reputable exchange.
However, it is recommended to use Binance due to its low trading and transfer fee.
Open and log in to your Binance app if you have a verified account.
New users can register at Binance.com or download the Binance app from their app store for mobile devices.
After downloading, create an account with an email address and password. Verify the account with your personal details and valid ID card.
Once you’re done, tap ‘Buy Crypto’ from the home screen. Choose ETH from the list of tokens you can buy on Binance. Input the amount of ETH you want to buy and tap ‘CONTINUE’.
After that, choose the preferred payment method and tap ‘CONFIRM’.
Supply the payment details and double-check your submission. Complete 2FA verifications to complete the purchase.
Once you’re done, your Spot wallet will be funded with the equivalent value of ETH.
3. Transfer ETH to Coinbase wallet
Open Coinbase wallet and tap RECEIVE from your home screen. Choose ETH as the token you want to receive and click on the deposit address to copy it.
Go back to your Binance app. Navigate to WALLETS > SPOT on the bottom right corner of the home screen.
In your Spot Wallet, click ‘WITHDRAW’ and choose ETH.
Paste the Coinbase deposit address and choose Ethereum as ‘Network.’ Input the amount of token you want to withdraw to your Coinbase and tap ‘WITHDRAW’.
Complete 2FA verifications to approve the withdrawal. Within 5 minutes, the Ether tokens will reflect in your Coinbase wallet.
4. Buy Saitama V2 tokens on Uniswap
After funding your Coinbase wallet with Ether tokens, you can now swap it to Saitama V2 tokens on a DEX like Uniswap.
Navigate to Uniswap.org on your Coinbase DApp browser. On the homepage, tap Launch App to go to the Swap page.
In the swap, choose ETH as the token you want to swap from. In the second field, you need to import SAITAMA V2 with its contract address. This is done to avoid a mix-up since we have two smart contracts already (Saitama V1 and Saitama V2).
To copy the contract address, go to www.saitamatoken.com and tap ‘COPY CONTRACT’ from the homepage.
Go back to Uniswap DEX in your Coinbase and paste the address. Then tap ‘IMPORT’ to add Saitama V2 to Uniswap.
Enter the amount of ETH you want to swap for Saitama V2 tokens.
Tap swap and approve the transaction in your wallet.
5. Import Saitama V2 tokens to Coinbase wallet
After swapping ETH for SAITAMA V2, you can see Saitama tokens in your coinbase wallet.
If, after buying v2 tokens and you can’t find them in your wallet, copy the contract address and go to Settings > Manage Assets in your wallet.
To add a new asset, tap + in the top right corner and add Saitama V2 with the contract address.
Steps to Migrate from Saitama V1 to V2 and Add Your Tokens to Coinbase
Saitama V2 is the second version of the original Saitama project. The V2 contract was announced in May 2022, and migration is still ongoing for all existing V1 holders.
Migrating to Saitama V2 is automatic for every V1 holder. As part of the migration process, the token’s team will take a snapshot of every old Saitama token holder and airdrop an equal value of the new Saitama V2.
Therefore, V1 holders do not have to do or pay anything for migration.
Meanwhile, only old Saitama holders can collect the V2 airdrop as part of the migration to the new contract.
Also, the Saitama v2 tokens will have the same value as the V1 when the project finally migrates.
If you are a Saitama V1 holder and you can’t find the new Saitama V2 tokens in your wallet, kindly follow the steps below to add the token to your Coinbase wallet.
- Set up Coinbase wallet
- Copy the new Saitama V2 contract address
- Import Saitama V2 token in your wallet
1. Set up Coinbase wallet
If you’re an old Saitama holder and you want to add the new Saitama V2 tokens to your Coinbase wallet, you need to set up your wallets first.
You can skip this step if you have an active Coinbase wallet.
To restore the wallet holding your Saitama V1 tokens, visit your app store and install the wallet. Open the wallet and tap ‘I already have a wallet,’ then restore your wallet with the 12-word recovery phrase.
Finally, choose a username and set up biometrics.
2. Copy the new Saitama V2 contract address
After gaining access to your wallet, you need Saitama V2’s contract address to add the token to your wallet.
To copy the contract, go to the Saitama V2 Migration website at https://www.saitamatoken.com/.
Under Saitama V2 New Contract, tap COPY CONTRACT to copy the new V2 contract address.
To see the full details of the new contract, go to Etherscan.io to scan the contract address.
On the search bar, paste the Saitama V2 contract address and click SEARCH.
On the smart contract page, tap SAITAMA to view its details.
Under the details, you will find the Overview, which comprises the Price, Holders, Supply, and Market Cap.
In the next section, you’ll find the Profile Summary that comprises Contract Address, Decimal, and relevant links.
You’ll need the details to add the token to your Coinbase wallet.
3. Import Saitama V2 token in your wallet
Open your Coinbase wallet and tap the SETTINGS icon in the bottom right corner of the home screen.
In the settings, scroll down to Manage Assets and tap + in the top right corner to add a new token.
Paste the Saitama v2 Contract Address in the field provided for the address. As soon as you tap ENTER, other details, including the Token Symbol, Token Decimal, and Network, should load up.
However, if other details don’t load up automatically, you can manually add them from the Contract details in Etherscan. Look for the following on Etherscan:
- Contract Address
- Token Symbol
- Token Decimal
Note: Ensure you copy the token address only from the official Saitama V2 website or from Etherscan.
Also, ensure you double-check the address before and after pasting it in your wallet.
After completing these steps you’ll be able to see Saitama V2 tokens in your coinbase wallet.
